eRecording, eNotarization Vital To Fraud Prevention By Nevin Barich
Kenneth J. Fleisher, Esq., outlined the importance of these processes during a recent Bar Institute seminar on preventing fraudulent conveyances. NNA experts also participated in the presentation, which included a major section on the benefits of eNotarization and the Electronic Notary Seal (ENS™) Program. "Attorneys usually encounter fraudulent transfers after the fact and are often asked to clear the title of the fraudulent document," Fleisher said. "If it becomes harder to commit the fraud, it will cut down on the problems attorneys and their clients face. Also, eRecording will create greater efficiencies, especially with so many closings now occurring either through the mail or with out-of-state venders." Fleisher will present a similar forum on fraudulent conveyances during the Bar Institute's 10th Annual Real Estate Institute at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia December 7 and 8. Real estate attorneys from across the state are expected to attend.
